The Thornton Sun Dogs overcame a good performance by Sioux Falls second baseman Mitsunari Kohara to knock off Sioux Falls, 6-5, at Lakota Ballpark. Kohara went 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The save went to Jin-haeng Yon, number 1 for him. Sioux Falls is 2-1 after the loss.

Dave Hickey came through with a big-time hit for Thornton. The second baseman smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 6-5. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Hickey told a Thornton Citizen reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
