The Grand Rapids Rafters coasted to a win over the Chandler Waxers, 11-3. Michael Brown had a good day at the plate for Grand Rapids. He was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. Ramón Vásquez picked up the win, improving his season record to 1-0. He struck out 6 in 5.1 innings. The loss drops Chandler to 1-2.

Glenn McIntyre had a big 2-run double for the Rafters in the bottom of the second inning. With Grand Rapids trailing 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a fastball from 23-year old right-handed pitcher Ignacio Bermúdez and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 2nd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Rafters ahead, 2-1.
