Browns Pick Up 5-3 Win Against Newport News
Salvador Ramos, who is tied for 3rd in the AML in strikeouts with 190, had a strong outing for the Beantown Browns against the Newport News Anchormen at Beantown Ballpark. The left-hander was a big part of his team's 5-3 win. The winning pitcher was Ramos, now 15-10. He tossed 8 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 6. The win makes Beantown 72-68.

The Anchormen had been locked in a 3-3 tie with the Browns going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 22-year old second baseman Sotan Sugano came to the plate. Sugano hit a 2-run double on a 0-1 fastball from Newport News hurler Mokichi Kiyomizu. It was Sugano's 20th double of the year.

"We put it together and came out with the win," Sugano said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
