The Akron Ambers knocked off the Mansfield Mohicans, 6-2, in Appalachian Mountain League action at Sprinters Ballpark. Akron pitcher and El Tocuyo, Venezuela, native Ivano Gramsci had an outstanding performance. Gramsci, the winner, moves to 10-6. He threw 5.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 2 and giving up 4 walks. With the victory, the Ambers record stands at 78-55.

Akron got a big at-bat from Haibara, Japan native Iwane Aoki, who in the top of the sixth hit a run-scoring triple. It was his 8th triple of the season and put the Ambers ahead, 3-1.
