Camaguey Loses Again, 6-4
|
Camaguey got a terrific game from catcher Pedro Mendoza. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Chesapeake Bay, 6-4. Mendoza was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Chesapeake Bay reliever Haruki Matsui picked up the win, upping his record to 9-2. Anthony Washington took the loss. Camaguey now owns a losing streak of 9 games.
Right Fielder Félix Morán made an impact for Chesapeake Bay, when he swatted a run-scoring double off Anthony Washington in the bottom of the first. For the contest, Morán was 3-5 with 2 doubles.
"Obviously," said Camaguey manager Brad Porter, "we've hit the skids."
