Newport News pitcher Pat Torre had a large part in his team beating the Eindhoven Electric, 4-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Giustino Fusarpoli, now 7-3, picked up the win in relief. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 2 innings. Picking up his 28th save was former first round draft pick Josh Cheney.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Harrison Jesty? The 34-year old first baseman Jesty stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put Newport News up, 4-3. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.

"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Jesty told the Newport News Daily News.

Newport News is now 65-65, while Eindhoven is 64-66.
