Browns Go Down to Defeat, 4-1
|
Evansville took on Beantown in front of a lively crowd.
Evansville picked up a win at Tri-Staters Ballpark, bumping off the Beantown Browns, 4-1. Pitcher Sergio Sánchez was a major reason the Tri-Staters emerged victorious. Luis Miguel Freitas finished to wrap up his 4th save.
Second Baseman Billy Steward made an impact for Evansville, when he swatted a run-scoring double off Bill Miller in the bottom of the fifth. For the contest, Steward went 1-2 with a double.
"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Tri-Staters manager Kazu Sakei, "I like our chances."
The Tri-Staters saw their win-loss record go to 56-73. At the same time, the Browns fell to 68-61.
