Clifton got a decent performance from pitcher Rory Soutar, but it wasn't enough to beat the Leeds Locomotives. Leeds won the Clifton Stadium contest, 4-3. Soutar threw 6.1 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. The save went to Tomás Soto, his 7th this season. The current losing streak for Clifton has reached 6 games.

Leeds used the timely hitting of Louie Hackman to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Locomotives on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Sometimes, you can be too aggressive," said Clifton manager Ken Hooper. "You need to let the game come to you."
