Braggarts fans were sent into a frenzy with a walk-off win.
In a low-scoring game between Fayetteville and Chesapeake Bay, Tony Méndez was fantastic. The Braggarts right-hander helped his team beat the Oysters, 1-0, in 10 innings. Reliever Ryosei Shiroi picked up the win. His record improves to 8-8. Eppe Dirks, who is tied for 7th in the AML in saves with 25, took the loss.
The Braggarts got a clutch hit from right fielder Marcos Jiménez. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Braggarts.
"Tony showed what he's made of," said Fayetteville manager Dave Nash.
The Braggarts move to 72-56 with the win, while the Oysters drop to 72-56.
