Ambers Deal Anchormen 4-2 Defeat
The Akron Ambers topped the Newport News Anchormen, 4-2, in Appalachian Mountain League action at Great Lakes Field. The game was highlighted by the performance of Akron pitcher Ben Ford. The save went to Ángel Fuentes, his 4th this season. Akron, at 71-54, occupies first place in the Appalachian Mountain League Central.

Iwane Aoki, who is tied for 5th in the AML in stolen bases with 33, contributed to the Akron win with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the second baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 2 RBI.
