Mohicans Pull Off Thrilling 2-1 Win in Extras
|
In a well-pitched game between the Mansfield Mohicans and the Fayetteville Braggarts, pitcher Ralph Bonilla was superb. The Mansfield right-hander helped his team win, 2-1, in 10 innings. Min-zhong Lou picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Ryosei Shiroi, who is tied for 2nd in the AML in saves with 35, was tagged with the loss. The second-place Mohicans hiked their record to 69-55.
The defining moment came in the bottom of the tenth for Mansfield. That's when Masujiro Mori hit a solo home run off 21-year old right-handed pitcher Ryosei Shiroi to win the game. The home crowd went wild.
"No one wins," Mori said, "without the will to win."
