Braggarts Get Close Win Over Mohicans, 3-2
|
The Fayetteville Braggarts knocked off the Mansfield Mohicans, 3-2, in Appalachian Mountain League action at Sprinters Ballpark. Fayetteville pitcher and Guatemala, Guatemala, native Pedro Sánchez had an outstanding performance. At 70-53, the Braggarts find themselves in first place in the Appalachian Mountain League East.
Mike Clifton had a direct impact on the outcome. Clifton contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the ninth inning to put Fayetteville up, 3-2.
"It'd be nice to win by four or five runs," Sánchez said, "instead of holding our breath the whole game."
