Locomotives Fall, 2-1, to Raleigh
|
Raleigh registered a win at El Dorado Field by beating the Leeds Locomotives, 2-1. Pitcher Bob Hodge was one reason why the El Dorados triumphed. Hodge, now 8-10, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 8, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. The El Dorados are now 68-52, while the Locomotives fall to 63-57.
Paul Bowser had a big run-scoring triple for the El Dorados in the bottom of the third inning. With Raleigh leading 1-0 and a runner on 3rd, he got a fastball from Luis López, who is tied for 2nd in the AML in quality starts with 18, and swatted a triple to right-center. It was his 8th triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the El Dorados ahead, 2-0.
"Tip of the cap to the El Dorados," said Leeds manager Ray Graham. "They played a good game."
