Ambers Suffer 5-2 Road Loss
The Santo Domingo Tourists beat the Akron Ambers, 5-2. Santo Domingo pitcher and Davie, Florida, native Juan Menéndez led the way. Picking up the save was 34-year old right-handed pitcher Dean Spargo. Santo Domingo is now 52-69.

The Tourists got a big hit from right fielder Stephen May. In the bottom of the sixth, May smacked a 2-run double off Akron pitcher Norris Neaves. It was his 14th double of the season. Suddenly, the Tourists were ahead, 2-1.

"Very pleased with the effort on our side," said May.
