The Sacramento Deltas topped the Long Beach Oilers, 7-5, in Humboldt action at Ballpark of Queens. The game was highlighted by the performance of Sacramento pitcher Martin Allen. Hideyoshi Kobayashi claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. His record stands at 1-0. Juan Otero finished the game for Sacramento and earned his 5th save.

Joe Williams came through with a big-time hit for Sacramento. The third baseman smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 7-5. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"Nice win," said Allen. "Not sure what else you want me to say."
