Tourists Stick Oysters with 4-3 Loss
|
Santo Domingo beat Chesapeake Bay at Ballpark of Chesapeake Bay, escaping with a 4-3 win. The win in large part was due to designated hitter Flynn Goodman. He was 3-4 with 2 home runs. Santo Domingo reliever Bernie Beard got the win, raising his record to 3-1. Hidekazu Suzuki was tagged with the loss. Santo Domingo is 49-67 and Chesapeake Bay, with the loss, 64-53.
Had Stephen May not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, May hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Tourists.
Goodman said his team "played with a purpose."
