The Akron Ambers picked up a win at Great Lakes Field, topping the Beantown Browns, 5-4. On the mound for Akron was right-hander Anthony Craig. He played a principal role in the triumph. Craig, now 7-4, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 7, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs. Powell Ruíz wrapped it up, recording his 8th save.
Akron took control in the bottom of the sixth. With two out and runners on 1st and 3rd, Raúl Chávez hit a run-scoring single to make it 3-2, Ambers.
"I was just taking it batter by batter, just enjoying the moment," said Craig.
Akron now sits at 62-48, while Beantown falls to 59-51.
