Braggarts Fall Short, 3-2, at Leeds
|
The Leeds Locomotives and Fayetteville Braggarts played an entertaining game for Rhino Park patrons.
Luis López was outstanding against Fayetteville. The right-hander, who leads the AML in wins with 13, had a fastball that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a Locomotives 3-2 win. López yielded 2 runs over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 2 hits, walked 1, and struck out 9. His record improves to 13-6. Ray Serna wrapped it up, recording his 5th save.
Júlio Sandoval helped out the Leeds cause in the bottom of the sixth inning with a run-scoring double. For the game, the designated hitter was 1-4 with a double.
"Tough loss," said Fayetteville manager Dave Nash. "But we'll learn from it."
The Locomotives lead the Appalachian Mountain League Europe and Islands by 5 games.
