The Clifton Dons got a good effort from starter Rory Soutar in defeating the Raleigh El Dorados at Clifton Stadium. The final score was 3-2. Soutar, now 6-11, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 5, walking 2, and allowing 2 runs. By defeating Raleigh, the last-place Dons improved to 47-59.
Yorikane Komatsu had a big run-scoring double for the Dons in the bottom of the first inning. With Clifton leading 2-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a changeup from 28-year old right-handed pitcher Jesús Morales and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 16th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Dons ahead, 3-0.
"Rory was able to locate to both sides, up and down," said Clifton manager Ken Hooper.
