The Aberdeen Golden Sands rode a solid performance from 29-year-old starting pitcher Yvon Fortier to a win, beating the Akron Ambers, 3-0, at Gold Street Park. Aberdeen is 52-52 and Akron, with the loss, 60-46.

Fortier tossed 117 pitches over 7.1 innings to clinch the win for the Golden Sands. The right-hander allowed just 4 hits, while racking up 8 strikeouts in the game.

"Yvon was doing a good job pouring in strikes," said Aberdeen manager Yoichibei Suzuki.
