Golden Sands Come Up Short at Chesapeake Bay, 2-1
|
The Chesapeake Bay Oysters earned a close win over the Aberdeen Golden Sands, thanks in part to Troy Thomas. The Chesapeake Bay left-hander played a key role in the 2-1 victory. Thomas got the win, improving to 4-9. He gave up 1 hit and walked 3 over 5.1 innings. He allowed 1 run. Chesapeake Bay is 4th in the Appalachian Mountain League East with a record of 55-47.
Javier Durán, the 9th overall pick in the 2040 draft, aided the Chesapeake Bay cause with a run-scoring ground out in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the third baseman was 1 for 3.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Aberdeen manager Yoichibei Suzuki. "The effort was great."
