Ambers Cut Down Electric, 4-2

The Akron Ambers rode a solid performance from 23-year-old starting pitcher Anthony Craig to a win, beating the Eindhoven Electric, 4-2, at Eindhoven Park. Craig yielded no runs over 5.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 2, and struck out 7. His record improves to 6-4. Ramiro Ramos closed the door for Akron, picking up his 1st save of the year.
Akron used the hitting of Harumi Okamoto to pick up the win. The designated hitter clubbed a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Ambers on top, 4-2. For the game, Okamoto had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Every win gets us closer to our ultimate goal," said Okamoto.
Akron, at 59-41, holds down first place in the Appalachian Mountain League Central.
