The Clifton Dons topped the Mansfield Mohicans, 5-4, in Appalachian Mountain League action at Sprinters Ballpark. The standout performance belonged to Clifton pitcher and Osaka, Japan, native Naofumi Yamaguchi. Yamaguchi, now 8-6, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 10 hits, while striking out 6, walking 0, and allowing 4 runs. Kyle Johnstone was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 4 of 5 save opportunities.

Roberto Nae helped his team jump on top from the get-go. His first time up in the top of the first, he cranked a 2-run single to give Clifton a 2-0 lead.
