The Leeds Locomotives defeated the Evansville Tri-Staters, 7-3, in Appalachian Mountain League action at Rhino Park. Leeds pitcher Luis López had a standout performance. The Locomotives now have a mark of 52-43.

Sugimoto Ohayashi went 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 times for Leeds. The 27-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the bottom of the second. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring single off Scotty Shorland. It was his 34th hit of the season.

"Enjoyed this one," Ohayashi told the Leeds Chronicle. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
