The Tourists earned a hard-fought, 3-2 win in 11 innings at Clifton Stadium. To do so required withstanding a fine effort from Clifton pitcher Brant Metcalf. Metcalf went 8 innings and allowed 1 run. The win went to Salvador Robles in relief, making him now 3-3. Lynn Gilbert took the loss for Clifton. Santo Domingo currently is in 4th place in the Appalachian Mountain League Europe and Islands at 38-45.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Wildemar Fantone? The former first round draft pick Fantone stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 11th inning to put Santo Domingo up, 3-2. For the game, he was 2 for 2, including 1 double and 1 single.

"This ballgame left me feeling kind of raw," said Clifton manager Ken Hooper.
