Mansfield beat Chesapeake Bay on the strength of starting pitcher Rafael Quintero's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 4-3. Mansfield reliever Ken Cole picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Greg Smith absorbed the loss. The second-place Mohicans sport a record of 49-37.

Mansfield took a 4-3 lead on Daniel Genara's 20th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Genara hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Chesapeake Bay pitcher Greg Smith visibly frustrated.

"Rafael mixed and matched," said Mansfield manager Pat Maxwell.
