Eindhoven Loss Tarnishes Fine Game by Glover
|
The inspired effort of Eindhoven first baseman John Glover was not enough to prevent a loss, 5-4, to the Leeds Locomotives. Glover went 4 for 4 with 2 home runs and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Petro Bouchard got the win, improving to 8-3. He held the Electric to 3 runs on 3 hits over 6.2 innings, while striking out 9 and walking 5. Tom Watson finished to wrap up his 5th save.
Leeds used the hitting of Louie Hackman to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Locomotives on top, 4-1. For the game, Hackman had 1 home run and 2 singles in 4 at-bats.
"I feel like a little kid every time I put the uniform on," said Hackman.
The Locomotives saw their record improve to 41-39.
