Dons Get One-Run Win at Evansville
|
Clifton turned a good performance from starting pitcher Daan Mastenbroek into a 3-2 triumph over the Evansville Tri-Staters at Tri-Staters Ballpark. Kaong Chao recorded the save for Clifton, his 15th of the season. The last-place Tri-Staters now sit at 30-48.
Clifton used a clutch at-bat from Dan Gore to capture the win. The designated hitter hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Dons ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"I just tried to focus on getting that first guy out every inning," said Mastenbroek.
