Behind a solid performance from first baseman Danny Martin, the Joplin Red Racers defeated the Aberdeen Golden Sands, 4-3. Martin was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs for the Red Racers. The Red Racers move to 36-43 with the win, while the Golden Sands drop to 39-38.

Alex Brooks provided a timely hit. The Joplin shortstop delivered a bases-clearing triple in the top of the sixth inning to put the Red Racers on top, 4-1. It was his only hit in the game, but he made it count.

"I don't feel you win baseball games by working harder than the other team or 'wanting it more,'" Brooks told the Joplin Herald. "You win just by scoring more runs."
