The Mansfield Mohicans took Fayetteville pitcher Gerardo Díaz's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Ballpark of Fayetteville. The final score had Mansfield getting past the Braggarts, 5-3. Díaz went 7.1 innings and allowed 4 runs, striking out 9. Ralph Bonilla earned the win for Mansfield. He lasted 5.1 innings, allowing 3 runs on 8 hits, while striking out 6. With the win, he raised his record to 9-4. Lloyd Willerton earned the save for Mansfield, his 17th of the year.

In the top of the third inning, the Mohicans grabbed the lead when Masujiro Mori rapped a two-out single. Mansfield was trailing 2-1, when Mori hit a 2-run single off Gerardo Díaz to put his team in front, 3-2.

"We were the better team today. Maybe that won't be the case next game, but we'll enjoy it for now," Mori told the Mansfield Daily.

The defeat makes Fayetteville 50-29.
