Ambers Use Late Rally to Win
Leeds shortstop Karol de Roode had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. de Roode was 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times, even as Akron beat the Locomotives, 9-7. Akron reliever Il-sang O picked up the win to move to 2-1. Tomás Soto suffered the loss. With the win, Akron has a record of 41-31. Leeds falls to 35-37.

Yoshida Chikafuji hit a 2-run triple off Tomás Soto in the top of the eighth, which put the Ambers in front, 8-7. Chikafuji had 2 singles, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 3 for 5.

"We'll just keep our nose to the grindstone," Chikafuji told the Akron Today.
