Browns Win at Clifton, 5-3
|
Clifton Stadium was the site for Appalachian Mountain League action featuring the Clifton Dons and Beantown Browns.
Bill Flynn made an impact in the 5-3 Beantown win over Clifton. Flynn, who is tied for 5th in the AML in home runs with 12, went 2-5 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. At 41-32, the Browns find themselves in second place in the Appalachian Mountain League East.
Flynn contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Beantown in the top of the fourth. With his team trailing 2-1, Flynn took a changeup from Daan Mastenbroek and stroked the home run to left. His 12th home run of the season allowed the Browns to leap in front, 5-2.
"Banging out wins is what it's all about," said Flynn.
