Mansfield Wins, 2-1, Over Tourists
|
Despite a fine performance by designated hitter Tim Baker, the Santo Domingo Tourists lost to the Mansfield Mohicans, 2-1. Baker threw 8.0 innings of shutout ball. Santo Domingo is in the throes of a losing streak which has reached 9 games.
The decisive blow was delivered by Masujiro Mori in the bottom of the 11th when he hit a run-scoring double off 30-year old right-handed pitcher Salvador Robles to win the game for Mansfield. The home crowd went nuts.
"It was terrific getting this win," Mori said. "We put in a lot of work to do it."
