The Evansville Tri-Staters took Akron pitcher Raúl Gómez's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Tri-Staters Ballpark. The final score had Evansville getting past the Ambers, 4-3. Gómez went 6 innings and allowed 1 run, striking out 7. The Tri-Staters move to 27-42 with the win, while the Ambers drop to 39-30.

Akio Sakamoto was the walk-off hero for Evansville. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Tri-Staters pinch hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
