Braggarts Get Clutch Win Versus Leeds
|
Fayetteville beat Leeds at Ballpark of Fayetteville, escaping with a 1-0 win. The win in large part was due to designated hitter John MacVurich. He threw 8.0 innings of shutout ball. By defeating Leeds, the first-place Braggarts improved to 36-28.
The Braggarts got a clutch hit from center fielder Mike Clifton. In the bottom of the ninth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Braggarts.
"This place was rocking at the end," MacVurich said.
