Braggarts Drop Golden Sands, 4-3, with Late Score

In a close game at Gold Street Park, the Fayetteville Braggarts edged the Aberdeen Golden Sands, 4-3. Fayetteville right fielder Pancho García stood apart with his performance. He was 2-3 with a triple and 2 walks. He scored 3 runs. Alonso Salazar got credit for the win, improving to 2-0. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.2 innings. Ryosei Shiroi earned his 16th save, after closing out the game.
Fayetteville used a timely hit from Harold Belafonte to get the win. The third baseman stroked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Braggarts ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.
"I believe in our guys," said Fayetteville skipper Dave Nash. "I like the energy they're playing with."
The Braggarts now have a mark of 31-21.
