Dons Take Tight Tangle
The Clifton Dons picked up a win at Clifton Stadium, knocking off the Newport News Anchormen, 4-3, in 11 innings. On the mound for Clifton was right-hander Kyle Johnstone. He played a pivotal role in the triumph. Clifton reliever Pete Blaquiere was the winner. His record is now 4-1. The losing pitcher was Josh Cheney. With the win, the Dons improved to 21-23.

The Dons got a clutch hit from right fielder Masahiko Takata. In the bottom of the 11th, he hit a run-scoring single to left, to win the game for the Dons.

"The game of baseball will test you," said Ken Hooper, the Clifton skipper. "This one tested us."
