Behind a solid performance from designated hitter John MacVurich, the Fayetteville Braggarts defeated the Raleigh El Dorados, 5-3. MacVurich went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 2 for the Braggarts. The Braggarts are now 24-18, while the El Dorados fall to 22-20.

In the bottom of the sixth, Fayetteville second baseman Edward Derrick gave his team the lead. With one out and the bases loaded, The Pauper hit his 4th double of the year. Raleigh pitcher José Mendoza surrendered it. With that, the Braggarts jumped in front, 4-3.

Fayetteville manager Dave Nash commended his team for exhibiting "no shortage of effort."
