The Leeds Locomotives needed 15 innings to defeat the Beantown Browns, 8-7, at Beantown Ballpark. Leeds left fielder Samuel Lapthorne had a superb performance. He went 3-6 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs. David Cruz recorded the save for Leeds, his 1st of the season. The first-place Locomotives go to 22-20.

The game was at a stalemate until center fielder Paddy Steur came to bat in the top of the 15th. Facing Beantown pitcher George Farleigh, he hit a 2-2 curveball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Leeds on top, 6-5.

"There's no victory at bargain basement prices," Steur told a reporter after the game.
