The Aberdeen Golden Sands weathered a fine game by Evansville catcher Claudio Lara to upend the Tri-Staters, 7-6, at Gold Street Park. Lara was 3-4 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Román Salinas finished to wrap up his 4th save. The loss makes Evansville 17-20.

Catcher Jesús Sánchez made an impact for Aberdeen, when he swatted a run-scoring double off Cipriano Ruíz in the bottom of the fifth. For the contest, Sánchez was 2 for 3 with 2 doubles and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.

"We'll pocket this win," said Sánchez, "and then go after another."
