Evansville starter Barney Stone pitched well against the Aberdeen Golden Sands at Gold Street Park. The right-hander led his team to a win, 8-1. The winner was Stone. He threw 7.0 innings of 6-hit ball. The loser was Soetsu Kawano. Luis Miguel Freitas wrapped it up, recording his 2nd save.

Toshiro Motsuzuki went 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk for Evansville. The 24-year old first baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the third. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring single off Soetsu Kawano. It was his 29th hit of the season.

"I just kind of blacked out and executed my pitches," said Stone.
