Braggarts Notch 5-4 Win Versus Mohicans
|
The Fayetteville Braggarts topped the Mansfield Mohicans, 5-4, with designated hitter John MacVurich playing a big role. MacVurich threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball for the Braggarts in the win. MacVurich got the win, improving to 4-3. He gave up 5 hits and walked 1 over 7 innings. He allowed 1 run. Ryosei Shiroi finished the game for Fayetteville and earned his 10th save.
Fayetteville grabbed the momentum in the top of the fifth, when MacVurich hit a grand slam home run off Ralph Bonilla. His 8th home run of the season put the Braggarts out in front, 5-1.
Said Fayetteville manager Dave Nash: "At the end of the day, these guys have to perform between the lines, and I think they did."
The Braggarts sit in first place in the Appalachian Mountain League East with a record of 21-13.
