The Chesapeake Bay Oysters downed the Jefferson County Independence, 3-1, at Ballpark of Chesapeake Bay. Stellar pitching by Naganori Rin had a lot to do with it. The right-hander, who is tied for 9th in the AML with a 1.98 ERA, handcuffed his opponent all game. In 5 innings, Rin surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. Eppe Dirks earned his 6th save, after closing out the game.
Yo Geng, who is tied for 6th in the AML with a .571 slugging percentage, contributed to the Chesapeake Bay win with a solo home run in the bottom of the first. For the game, the designated hitter had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 2 RBI.
