Left-hander Troy Thomas mesmerized the Newport News Anchormen while leading the Chesapeake Bay Oysters to a 4-0 victory. The save went to Sergio Rivera, his 2nd this season. The Anchormen have now dropped 5 straight.

Thomas earned the win, going 7 strong innings for Chesapeake Bay. The native of Keizer, Oregon, allowed just 2 hits, while striking out 7. Newport News hitters did next to nothing against the left-hander.

"We need better swings, better at-bats," said losing manager Naoki Suzuki.
