Slumping Locomotives Lose Again, 9-2
The Akron Ambers powered past the Leeds Locomotives, 9-2, at Great Lakes Field. Norberto Ortíz was 2 for 4 with 2 doubles. He scored 2 times and drove in 4, to lead the charge. Akron reliever Takahashi Sasaki picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Jason Romero took the loss. The Locomotives fall to 12-15 and continue their wobbly start to the 2042 season.

Iwane Aoki was 1 for 4 with a triple and a walk, while scoring 2 runs for Akron. The 23-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With no one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring walk off Dan Davidson. It was his 13th walk of the season.
