Red Racers Pull Out Late Win, 3-2
Bob Hodge, who leads the AML in complete games with 2, pitched well, but the Raleigh El Dorados still fell short, losing, 3-2, to the Joplin Red Racers at El Dorado Field. Steve Herrera earned the save for Joplin. Raleigh falls to 15-9.

Joplin used a timely hit from Tatsuzo Kouda to get the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Red Racers ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a difference-maker.

"Every loss stings," said Raleigh manager Ralph Gunther. "This one is no exception."
