The performance of Zach Smith proved critical in helping Camaguey beat Clifton, 6-5. The Tinajon first baseman went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Kent Roberts notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 2.1 innings. His record now sits at 2-2. The save was credited to Josuke Matsuda, his 2nd.

Smith had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the sixth. On a first pitch sinker from Eichiro Ogawa, he banged a 2-run home run to left, giving the Tinajon a 6-4 lead. It was the 3rd home run of the year for Smith.

"I put some good swings on the ball," said Smith.

The Dons fall to 9-13 and continue their uneven start to the 2042 season.
