The standout performance belonged to Eindhoven pitcher and New Paltz, New York, native Peter Roberts. Roberts, the winner, moves to 1-1. He threw 7.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up 2 walks. Picking up the save was Karel Rietkerk, his 6th.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Yosai Murata? The 25-year old catcher Murata stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put Eindhoven up, 2-1. For the game, he was 2 for 3, including 1 double and 1 single.
