The Mansfield Mohicans could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Xing-fu Zheng into a win. Instead, the Beantown Browns prevailed, 4-2. Zheng threw 6.0 innings of 1-hit ball. David Chambers nailed down the save. The Mohicans drop to 5-7, as their stumbling start to the 2042 season continues.
Bill Flynn came through with a big-time hit for Beantown. The right fielder smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 4-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
Said losing manager Pat Maxwell: "'I liked the effort, just not the results."
