Braggarts Get Thrilling 2-1 Win
|
In a low-scoring game between the Fayetteville Braggarts and the Beantown Browns, pitcher Diego Varela was the difference-maker. The Fayetteville right-hander was tough as nails in the 10 inning, 2-1 Braggarts win. Juan Pérez picked up the save for Fayetteville, his 1st of the year. The loss lowers the Beantown record to 4-6.
Fayetteville used the timely hitting of Micah Tompkins to seize the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Braggarts on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Well, it's always frustrating to lose," said Beantown manager Orlando Valadez.
